Somehow WoW seems to have locked my sound to my USB headset and no other device! If I remove it, I again get no sound (despite playing with default sound/speaker options). If I plug my USB headset in I get sound all WoW sound correctly through that headset. So no sound through the speakers or non-USB headset (all other windows sounds are fine as are other games- its just WoW). If I run WoW with no USB headset, or using a jack-plug headset I get no sound at all in WoW (the game selects system default in the sound menu by default). Skype/Teamspeak/Vent etc all worked correctly through the headset (as did all windows sounds and other games etc). Selecting USB headset correctly routed the sound through my headset. This worked again without problem and WoW showed USB headset as an in-game sound option. I then plugged in my USB headset (letting Vista auto detect the hardware). When I first ran the game all the sound worked fine from my laptop speakers (whether system default or speakers is selected from the in-game sound menu).
